This class is an introduction and would be considered mandatory for those staff that will be working exclusively in the field reviewing and inspecting heating systems for the DOE WAP or HWAP Programs. The class would also be beneficial for any office staff to get a better understanding of the operation of heating systems, system parts and how to test and inspect.

This OSHA Confined Spaces training is a comprehensive safety program designed for weatherization workers interested in understanding and expanding their knowledge of the new OSHA standard for Confined Spaces (29 CFR 1926 Subpart AA)-any space that meets the following three criteria: is large enough for a worker to enter it; has limited means of entry or exit; and is not designed for continuous occupancy. Specifically devised for safety directors, foremen, and field supervisors; the program provides complete information on OSHA compliance issues. BPI (2.5 CEUs)

The IREC Certified Weatherization Crew Lead will provide the groundwork for weatherization workers interested in understanding and advancing their careers. Topics covered in this course include: - Role of the Crew Leader - Safe Work Practices - Maintaining Quality Control - Advanced Blower Door Diagnostics - Combustion Safety Instruction This training session is held in the classroom with additional technical training in the lab space. Students will be required to pass a final exam on the last day of training to receive a certificate. Length: 4 Days Experience Level: Advanced Class limit: 8 Price: $1,750/pp

This training will provide the necessary skills to perform blower door diagnostics and how to apply them to establish a target blower door reduction for contractors. Students will learn what data to collect at home, how to appropriately track the target blower door information and how to effectively communicate the targets to contractors performing the weatherization work. This training will also cover how to use the target blower door for quality control inspections and what to do if target blower door reductions are not met.

Home Weatherization and Retrofit Installer course provides the groundwork for entry into the weatherization field and provides additional knowledge to existing weatherization. Topics covered include: • Introduction to weatherization • Air and duct sealing • Use of spray foam • Dense Packing The instructor will evaluate students during this course through observation, hands-on lab exercises, and classroom participation. This course is aligned with the NREL Job Task Analysis for Retrofit Installer Technician Experience Level: Entry Level to Advanced BPI CEUs: 17

Quality Control Inspector training will provide weatherization workers with expanded knowledge of weatherization. The training will help individuals understand how: - QC ensures completion of work performed according to specifications and standards - Perform safety and diagnostic tests - Record and report findings - How to deal with corrective actions based upon the building audit Tuition cost includes written exam
