This one-day class will give staff who are involved in the Weatherization Program but not actively in the field a general overview of the different elements of the weatherization program. Topics will include: - History of the program - Building Science (energy, air and moisture) - Ventilation - Home construction basics - Air leakage - Insulation - Blower Door Testing - Combustion Appliance Zone Testing (CAZ) - Air Source Heat Pumps - Appliance Management Program There will be time in the lab observing various diagnostic testing, with hands-on participation encouraged.

This class is an introduction and would be considered mandatory for those staff that will be working exclusively in the field reviewing and inspecting heating systems for the DOE WAP or HWAP Programs. The class would also be beneficial for any office staff to get a better understanding of the operation of heating systems, system parts and how to test and inspect.

Prerequisites: BA-T Certification In this course you’ll complete Building Analyst training by learning how to manage the information you collected from the site visit to develop a comprehensive Energy Audit Report with a list of prioritized home performance recommendations.
