Welcome to Your GJA Badge Portal!

At Green Jobs Academy, you do not just sit in a classroom. You master real-world skills that local employers and MassSave contractors notice.

As you complete your weatherization and home performance training, you will earn official Digital Skill Badges.

These badges prove that you meet the high standards set by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL).

How It Works

  • Attend Your Training: Join your online classes and show up for your hands-on physical lab sessions.

  • Pass the Quizzes: Finish the quick online knowledge checks to unlock your automated Theory Badges.

  • Prove Your Skills: Demonstrate proper technique in the lab—like dense-packing a wall or setting up a blower door.

  • Get Signed Off: Once an instructor verifies your field work, your official Field Badges will unlock in your profile.

Tracking Your Progress

  • Your Personal Dashboard: Look at the grid below to view your current achievements and see what is left to learn.

  • Earn Your Stripes: Bright, fully colored badges show your mastered skills. Grayed-out icons show you what goals to chase next.

  • The Career Color Code: Badges are grouped by NREL categories so you can easily see your strengths:

  • 🔹 Blue Badges: Attics (Air sealing, insulation, and venting)

  • 🟤 Brown Badges: Basements & Crawlspaces (Vapor barriers and rim joists)

  • 🟢 Green Badges: Living Spaces (Dense-pack sidewalls and weatherstripping)

  • 🟡 Gold Badges: Combustion Safety (Blower door diagnostics and gas safety)

Leveling Up Your Career

  • Share with Employers: Take a quick screenshot of your unlocked badge gallery to show local energy efficiency contractors exactly what you can do on a job site.

  • Upgrade Your Resume: Add your high-tier milestones (like Air Sealing Specialist or Crew Leader Apprentice) directly to your resume or job applications.
