The IREC Certified Weatherization Crew Lead will provide the groundwork for weatherization workers interested in understanding and advancing their careers. Topics covered in this course include: - Role of the Crew Leader - Safe Work Practices - Maintaining Quality Control - Advanced Blower Door Diagnostics - Combustion Safety Instruction This training session is held in the classroom with additional technical training in the lab space. - Heating System Evaluator's Certification
This class is an introduction and would be considered mandatory for those staff that will be working exclusively in the field reviewing and inspecting heating systems for the DOE WAP or HWAP Programs. The class would also be beneficial for any office staff to get a better understanding of the operation of heating systems, system parts and how to test and inspect.

- Building Science Principles
As the first step toward earning your BA-T and BA-P, BSP provides a foundation in Building Science. You’ll learn how applying science to residential building practices has transformed how we build to improve occupant health, building structural integrity, comfort, and saving energy. You’ll learn how the many components of a home interact as we explore how the building is affected by heat transfer, air flow, and moisture transport. Price includes book and exam.

- EOHLC MA DOE WAP Energy Auditor - Week 2
Prerequisites: EOHLC EA Week 1 This training will consist of a review of previous sessions, practice of diagnostic testing and additional DOE WAP Program requirements (Priority List Training & Intro to NEAT). Upon completion and passing of all tests the students will receive their Massachusetts EOHLC/DOE WAP Certification. The only other requirements needed will be the following safety trainings: LEAD RRP, OSHA-10 & OSHA Confined Space.

- Intro to WX for Non-Technical Staff
This one-day class will give staff who are involved in the Weatherization Program but not actively in the field a general overview of the different elements of the weatherization program. Topics will include: - History of the program - Building Science (energy, air and moisture) - Ventilation - Home construction basics - Air leakage - Insulation - Blower Door Testing - Combustion Appliance Zone Testing (CAZ) - Air Source Heat Pumps - Appliance Management Program There will be time in the lab observing various diagnostic testing, with hands-on participation encouraged.

The course will provide experienced weatherization workers with knowledge and skills to advance in their careers, and to prepare them for the BPI Energy Auditor Exam. This course is designed for someone who has extensive field experience and is looking to further their Energy Auditor credentials. Topics covered in this course includes: - House as a System - Energy Movement - Calculating Envelope Energy Loss The curriculum for this course is aligned with the NREL Job Task Analyses (JTAs). This training session is primarily in class with additional technical training in advanced blower door diagnostics, a review of current installation methodologies and combustion safety instruction. This course is aligned with the NREL Job Task Analysis for Energy Auditor. Experience Level: Intermediate (time in field requirements apply) BPI CEUs: 17 Prerequisites: BPI Prerequisites, BPI Approval Letter, GJA Math Pretest.

Prerequisites: BSP Certification This five (5) day training is a continuation of Building Science Principles, giving students the fundamentals to complete a complete home assessment. This class is designed for those individuals that will be working in the Low-Income Network primarily under the DOE WAP Program and those who may start out in the Utility Programs with plans to move to DOE WAP.
